Regarding systemd

Back when I was younger, I remember how systemd was met with heavy resistance from the community. I assumed Ubuntu would stick with traditional tools, and I also thought - “hey, it’s just a tool to enable parallel system initialization”, so I didn’t bother learning it. But here we are, nearly 15 years later — systemd is everywhere, even in my favorite distribution, Gentoo Linux. And it’s not just an init system anymore; things like journalctl have become essential parts of the modern Linux user experience. I don’t know if this is some kind of teachable moment, but now I find myself trying to catch up, learning the whole systemd ecosystem in a rushed and unstructured way.
